As per the schedule, the 9th season of BPL is going to start from 5th January 2023 to 16th February 2023. However, it is going to start right after the new year in 3 different venues in Bangladesh.

How many teams are participating in this league?
BCB has announced that 7 teams will take part this season. These 7 teams are Chattogram Challengers, Comilla Victorians, Dhaka Team, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Strikers.
On the other hand, BPL uses a draft system to appoint players to any team. Moreover, franchises can also choose new players during the annual draft. On the bright side, teams also have the authority to retain players from one year to the next. Players can also be assigned outside of the annual draft and these players can be directly traded between organizations.

In this 9th edition, BCB has decided to increase the number of teams to 7 so that people can enjoy bigger BPL. Furthermore, BCB will sell franchise rights for 3 years from this 9th edition.
